DC Days

I finally set aside time for my highly anticipated trip to Washington D.C. to visit some of my favorite people. I have to admit though, that my interest in this city has greatly increased since I developed an obsession with the show Scandal. I was secretly hoping to run into Kerry Washington the entire time, but I guess I had to settle with Abe Lincoln (see below). I had a great time being the ultimate tourist, making sure that I saw all that D.C. had to offer in a short 48 hours. I was pleasantly surprised with the city itself. For some reason I had envisioned a tiny NYC, but instead I found an impeccably clean city that lacked high rises but had tons of space to breathe. This is always a refreshing feeling when you find yourself caught up in the city grind. This has ignited a new fire in me to travel to places that are just a bus ride away from the city I call home. I have an itch to travel and this is a great, cost effective, and fun way to do it! Did I mention I got to ride in a double decker bus to and from D.C.?
Shout out to my awesome host (see above). Loved seeing him in his element and was lucky enough to learn tons about our nations capital form him. Such a smart guy doing his thing!
